The environmental impact of solar energy in India

  • 2022-04-01 09:13:29
This year, in the midst of a widespread pandemic, we saw the world embrace the need for a clean environment. Now, green energy is more important and concerned than ever. Earth Hour and World Environment Day have been widely reported on social media around the world. This will only give people more confidence that green energy going forward will be the future. Only by doing our part can we hope to leave a more sustainable planet for our children and grandchildren.

“India has 21 of the world’s 30 most polluted cities, with 122 failing to meet national ambient air quality standards. In addition to affecting the health of citizens, air pollution can affect agriculture, climate, architecture and aesthetics, in terms of visibility aspect."

How does solar energy play a role in this? The answer to this question and the recognition of this answer are vital to us today.

“As a country, India has huge scope to make renewable energy (RE) the new normal by making renewable energy (RE) its main energy source.”

We are fortunate to have renewable energy in the form of solar, wind, hydro, and more.

“A joint WWF-India and TERI study, Energy Report - India: Achieving 100% Renewable Energy by 2050, highlights that positive efficiency improvements in energy demand and supply have enormous potential to reduce overall energy demand About 59% at the national level. The remaining demand can be met by renewable energy.”

This was also reiterated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he recently accepted the prestigious CERAWeek Global Energy and Environment Leadership Award. Citizens need to increase their energy to invest in solar panels for a bigger picture and additional advantages.

We covered "How Solar Panels Work" in our previous blog, which is available on cxmsolar. In this blog, we will outline the positive impact of solar energy on the environment.

Inexhaustible Resource - Household solar systems is an inexhaustible resource. It can function for billions of years into the future. It is expected to be the largest source of electricity by 2050.
Environmentally friendly - Solar energy does not release any harmful greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Considering India is one of the most polluted countries in the world, solar energy is the way to go.
Multiple Uses - Most people are unaware of the wide range of uses of solar energy. Solar energy can be used for cooking, heating, drying and, of course, electricity. It has multiple uses that make it more believable and useful.
Boosting the economy - By opting for solar, the demand and price of its alternatives (coal, natural gas) will decrease, creating a favorable market for the solar industry. This is bound to have a major impact on the economy, creating more jobs across the country.
